Volunteer Christchurch - Ōtautahi Tūao
Helpline Counsellor - Āwhina
Interested in providing counselling by text, phone, email and web chat to young people across New Zealand?
Have you had a couple of years life experience after school? We would love to hear from you.
The helpline is very rewarding, and a significant commitment of 3 three-hour shifts per month for two years, plus four initial weekend trainings. There is no age limit for helpline counsellors. More info in the application form.
Would you like a leadership role of training other young people in personal development and peer support skills? Would you like to develop your facilitation and presentation skills?
Our workshops are interactive workshops for young people, including our Address the Stress workshop, and the weekend extravaganza Good2Great. They aim to up-skill young people so that they can make it through life.
We will train you up over an evening in facilitation skills, and how to deliver each workshop type that you deliver. You will be paired with an more experience presenter for your first workshops. You do need confidence in speaking to groups of young people.
This is an occasional commitment as our workshops are provided by request.
Want to support Youthline? Want an easy way in? We run several one-off awareness and fundraising events throughout the year.
These include Christmas in the Park, an Annual Appeal, and a Bunnings BBQ.
We also love hearing about ideas for events that YOU have.
