We are committed to volunteerism and the value it brings, not only to the organisation, but to those who volunteer and, ultimately, to the wider community. We strive to be an organisation which encourages lifelong service to others, so that even when people leave the organisation, they continue to work in other areas of the community.
The involvement of volunteers is key to us achieving our objectives, and is key to us providing our professional and confidential support service for young people.
Many people use their time with us to confirm their interest in, and build a future career in, counselling, social work, youth work or psychology. Counsellors not only gain valuable skills for their work here at Youthline, but also skills they can transfer and use in their work, study, family life and the wider community.
Working as a volunteer at Youthline, you will be working in a positive environment where you will be supported, challenged and motivated.
For more information, or to register your interest in training, please contact the team.
These include events such as Careers Expo, LYFE Festival, Orientation Weeks, and much more. Sometimes we're fundraising, sometimes we're raising awareness around a particular issue, and sometimes we're just having fun!If there is an event that you would like us to come along to or one that you think we should be at,let us know. We can't promise to be at everything, but we will do our best to get to as many events as we can.
We also love it when others host events for us. Whether you’re thinking of a bake sale at your work, community event, mufti day at school, running a marathon with donations going towards Youthline Central South Island, we want to hear from you!
Please let us know what your ideas are and how we can best support you, we will be in touch.
