Round The Bays

Join Youthline for Round the Bays 2020

We are very excited to have been chosen as one of the four charities supported by Ports of Auckland Round the Bays for the 2020 event happening on Sunday, March 8th.

To run for Youthline you'll first need to register yourself or your team for the event, and then set up a designated fundraising page.

Round the Bays isn’t your average fun run - it’s New Zealand’s largest! Round the Bays brings people from different cultures, workplaces and abilities together in one spectacular mass of colour and pride something we are very passionate about at Youthline.  We are proud to be supported by such a great event and promote a healthier, happier NZ. If we can help people get active, then we count that as a win in supporting your mental health.  Whether you’ve done this event for the 1st or 31st time, to run for a cause, to smash your fitness goals or to just to be a part of New Zealand’s largest fun run, you'll leave having experienced an unforgettable day.

We encourage you to grab your friends, work colleague, school mates and whanau and enter a team in support of Youthline and run for a reason. Fundraise for us as we’re aiming to help raise over $10,000 on our fundraising page to support our National Helpline Service. Our Helpline Service costs over $1.5 million per year and we receive less than $90,000 in government support for this vital service.  The money raised from Round the Bays will be going into funding our Free Helpline Services.

Our Free Helpline Services are available 24/7 Nationally to provide phone, text, web chat and email support for young people (and their families). Sadly, 2 out of every 5 texts received to the Helpline were presenting around suicide, self-harm, anxiety and depression and 1 in 5 texts were related to suicide. We do life changing work through our Helpline, it is undoubtedly our most important work in positively impacting Mental Health in NZ.  Youthline provides young people "another option" another way their story could go.  We provide young people who are in pain with a trained, responsive and supportive counsellor. Sadly we are seeing increasing numbers of young people contacting us in crisis. The number of young people at high-risk contacting us has doubled since the start of the year and our service is creaking under this pressure.

Help us save lives, sign up and start fundraising for Youthline today.
