Youthline Otago provides a variety of services and programmes to the North Otago region including helpline counselling, face to face counselling, community education programmes, personal development programmes, and volunteer training. We are committed to offering accessible, affordable, non-judgemental services focussed on the needs of young people in the Oamaru area. Our mission is to support and empower young people locally and nationally to develop skills to grow and thrive.

We offer affordable counselling with professionals for individuals, families, or couples. Cost is not a barrier - cost is calculated to ensure it is accessible to all. Counselling is available anywhere, through our 5 locations or over video call.

Volunteering | TūaoYouthline Otago is a volunteer led organisation; join us to help support and educate our community! We have a range of ways you can get involved such as helpline counselling, facilitating workshops, fundraising, promotion, events, marketing etc.! Get in contact to help us support young New Zealanders and make a real difference to people's lives.
Youthline's national helpline is staffed by volunteers. Helpline counsellors are trained to ensure they are supported and equipped with the skills to take on this challenging and rewarding role. Induction training to become a helpline counsellor is held a several times a year and consists of 8 full days of training over 4 weekends. Click below to learn more and sign up! |
We also offer voluntary internship placements for face to face counsellors. Interns must be a New Zealand Association of Counsellors provisional member or equivalent.
