Volunteering / Tūao

Youthline Southland has given me the training in what I need to know about myself and others, so that I can help someone who may be at their worst. The other volunteers, supervision, coordinator, and board have made Youthline Southland a supportive place, where we can feel we really make a difference.
Youthline Southland is a volunteer led organisation; join us to help support and educate our community! We have a range of ways you can get involved such as helpline counselling, facilitating workshops, fundraising, promotion, events, marketing etc.! Get in contact to help us support young New Zealanders and make a real difference to people's lives.

From the Youthline Southland hub our volunteers staff the national helpline. Helpline counsellors are trained to ensure they are supported and equipped with the skills to take on this challenging and rewarding role. Induction training to become a helpline counsellor is held a several times a year in collaboration with Youthline Otago and consists of 8 full days of training over 4 weekends. Click below to learn more and sign up!
