Welcome to Youthline. We offer counselling in Ponsonby, Manukau, North Shore and Waitakere.

 

We've produced the below information in order to assist you with finding us and getting your bearings for your first few visits.

 

Everyone has difficult experiences or feelings at some point in their lives and it is not always easy or useful to try and deal with them alone.

 

Face to Face Counselling is a helping relationship with a trained professional who will listen carefully and respectfully to you. We will work with you in a confidential and safe environment to help you to better understand yourself and relieve emotional distress.

 

Family counselling offers families the opportunity to work together to improve communication and discuss issues.

 

Counselling can help you to discover your strengths, make decisions, deal with difficult life events both present and past, cope with difficult feelings, improve your relationships, improve self-esteem and know yourself better.

Anyone can come to counselling at Youthline whether they just have something they want to talk through, or if they have been troubled by things their whole lives. We work with individuals, adolescents, adults, children, families, whanau and couples. Counselling is tailored to each individual.

 

We have many professionals trained in counselling, psychotherapy and family work.

 

Counselling sessions are available in Ponsonby, Manukau, Waitakere and the North Shore during the day, evenings and weekends. Call (09) 361 4168 (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday) to arrange to see a counsellor.

 

Counselling is based on a koha or sliding scale depending on your income. Subsidies may be available for those in financial hardship. Youthline will discuss this with you when you arrange your appointment.

 

Youthline helps young people and their families through counselling, information and referral, training and leadership courses, youth work services, research and advocacy.

 

Youthline is an approved and audited service under S.403 Child Youth and Family Act 1989.

 

Youthline respects the diversity and rights of each person. All counsellors abide by a clear code of ethics and your sessions are confidential.  Counsellors are professionally trained and supervised.
