Our Community Education Programme supports young people to develop resources for everyday life - the ordinary stuff which helps us thrive - and covers Central Otago, Queenstown-Lakes District, Dunedin, Clutha and South Otago, Waitaki, Timaru, and parts of the West Coast.
Our workshops empower young people through personal development and provide content that is relevant and real. Youthline Otago’s Community Education Programme focuses on positive actions, honest answers, and facilitating a nonjudgmental environment.
Workshops offered:
* Self Awareness:
Who I Am and How I Relate to Others – Identity and Relationship
* Self Care:
Me & My World – Sustainability, Globalisation and Shaping the World I Want
* Self Management:
How I Am & How I Feel – Stress, Conflict, Rebellion and Supporting Well Being in Everyday Life
Youthline Otago offers workshops to students from years 9-13 and tailors the content to best work within each school's culture, needs and time constraints. Youthline Otago’s Community Education Programme has been developed to incorporate the visions and principles of the New Zealand Curriculum, as well as adopting specific achievement objectives from the learning areas of Social Science and Health and Physical Education.
Youthline Otago will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2010. With almost 40 years experience we provide well-regarded confidential, non-judgmental telephone listening and community services, focused on the needs of young people, but available for all ages and concerns. We support people in finding the tools to empower themselves, to help them develop their own answers to their questions.
