NZ Association for Adolescent Heath and Development

People who work with young people include youth workers, doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, church leaders, members of Maori organisations and government workers.

Such diverse groups need a framework to effectively work together and be able to share knowledge and ideas.

This is the purpose of the New Zealand Association for Adolescent Health and Development (NZAAHD), whose goal is to promote the health and development of young people.

Some of the key initiatives of NZAAHD are Youth Week, a national event that promotes youth issues and the Involve conference, in partnership with the National Youth Workers Network.

Youthline believes it is essential for youth and family focused services to have strong community networks. A key component of this for Youthline has been holding a leading role in NZAAHD, which has helped to develop NZAAHD's profile.
