Workforce Competencies

A current project that Youthline is involved in will see the development of workforce competencies for youth workers.


A draft of the core competencies is available here. We welcome any feedback you have on this project.
Core competencies are the first stage of this project. Future components will include intermediate and advanced competencies, which are also currently in development.


A later development will also include competencies for other professions which also work with young people.


The core competencies have also developed into an online self-assessment tool, designed so that youth workers can assess their skills and any gaps in their knowledge. To find out more, click here.
