if you had a family member that was into drugs, but you didn't want to betray them, what would you do.

In one way you'd know they'd be angry if you told and espcially if they told you that you were not to tell on them.

On the other hand, drugs could seriously affect them and can ruin their, yours and your families lives.

What would someone do then and how would they try to help the family member doing drugs.

hey i have kinda been in the same place that you are in but mine was a friend.

the first thing i done was talked to someone that i trust eg my school councillor and asked for there advice.

after i talked to her i needed more help so i found a drug councillor it wasnt the first thing i told them because i needed to trust them

after you have found someone that you trust then you tell them the story and see what they think

Thats a hard one! i think i would talk to the person first (or try to) and see if they could recognise that what they were doing was a problem. If that didnt work i might try talking to a parent or other family member I trusted, or as dmntd2 said, see a counsellor through school or through somewhere else.

Hey these r all really gr8 ideas! Can b hard feelin loyal 2 friend/family memba but wantin 2 get them sum help at the same time. Sometimes people will get angry cause drugs can affect people like that, but getting them help is important because things can get worse.

Seeing a counsellor even to just talk about how your feeling is great, can be nice not having to be alone with what's going on.

I my brother was in a similar situation. It was really hard, cause he didn't want to hear it. My family just tried to keep him safe and eventually he figured it out for himself. He realised that the crowd he was doing it with didn't care about him as much as we did and he stopped. But I think we were really lucky.
