Youthline Southland has just moved into Southland Community House and is all set to continue its work with young people in the community.

Youthline has had a presence in Southland for 30 years and offers telephone, text and email support to young people seeking help.

Southland also provides part of a national triage service managing specialty callers and supporting counsellors on the youth helpline two nights a week.

Senior telephone counsellor Leann Miller is pleased with Southland’s new surroundings “The new building is really community friendly with office space where we can run training groups and separate rooms for phone counselling and there is always a possibility to grow”.

Youthline Southland covers calls in the lower South Island area and is seeking more volunteers to help local young people. To volunteer with Youthline Southland call 03 214 5238
